 इस समय सारी दुनिया की नज़र ओलंपिक खेलो में बनी हुई है जिसमे हर देश के खिलाड़ी खेल रहे है. हर देश चाहता है की उसके ज्यादा से ज्यादा मैडल जीत कर शीर्ष स्थान पर रहे. भारत देश भी अपने 120 ज्यादा खिलाडी के साथ टोक्यो ओलंपिक में उतरी  है अभी तक लगभग भारत के 100 से ज्यादा खिलाड़ी खेल चुके है जिसमे भारत के अभी तक 5 मैडल सुनिश्चित कर चुका है. भारत ने पहली बार हॉकी के पुरुष और महिला दोनों में ही सेमीफाइनल में क्वालिफाइड किया है जो आज तक नहीं हुआ था अभी तक भारत की पुरुष और महिला  दोनों ही टीम ने अपना सेमीफाइनल का मैच हार गई. लेकिन अभी भी एक आखिरी मौका था दोनों ही भारतीय टीम के पास की वो कांस्य पदक जीत कर मैडल मंच पर खड़े हो सके.

 

  5 अगस्त को पुरुष हॉकी  ने अपना आखिर बार मैच खेलने उतरी और उन्होंने अपना इस सफर को एक अच्छे और साथ में मैडल के साथ इस सफर को ख़त्म करना चाहती थी और उन्होंने अपना मैच में जर्मनी 5-4 जीत दर्ज करके 41 साल बाद ओलंपिक मैडल जीत कर एक नया इतिहास लिख दिया और अब बाकी था महिला हॉकी जिनका मुकाबला था रिओ ओलंपिक के गोल्ड मैडल  विजेता से.
